The goals of Camp Abilities Four Corners are generally the same as all Camp Abilities:
- Participants will become skilled in the areas of focus of the Camp. For example, Camp athletes will learn skills to participate in golf, beep baseball, basketball, swimming, rock climbing, hiking, painting, pottery, drumming, etc.
- Participants will become more confident in their ability to participate in sports, recreation, and leisure activities as well as art and music.
- Participants will increasingly seek out sports/recreation and artistic opportunities in their communities; thus, improving the public perception of individuals with visual impairments.
- Participants will become more independent and empowered as a result of their involvement in Camp programs. Participants will demonstrate self-advocacy skills to gain access to sports/recreation and art/music activities.
- Staff will gain experience teaching children with visual impairments and with the modifications and strategies they need to participate in a variety of sports, music, and art activities.
